Coton Manor Gardens

This weekend we had arranged to meet up with our longtime and closest friends Maggie and Mark.  Maggie is also a very keen gardener so we decided to go to Coton Manor Gardens, midway between us time and distance wise and if it rained, well we’d just have to get wet.

In other news I have a new (to me) camera to play with rather than using my iPhone as I have to date, so it was a good opportunity to try it.

I don’t have the knowledge or skill to critique gardens so I won’t but we liked it very much and I recommend it. You can make your own mind up from the slideshow below.

They also have an extensive plant nursery, garden school and the all important tea shop (all freshly made and the ham is home produced but don’t mention it to the pigs when you see them on your way round).

You can find all details on their website here. Let me know what you thought if you’ve already been or if you decide to go.

And to end on a tender note a romantic picture of our friends.

A lovely place to visit, although I’ve not been for some years. Don’t worry about ‘critiquing’ such gardens as I’m sure most people would rather read your opinions good or bad.
Did the rain hold off for you?
Thanks for a nice post, and lovely pictures, which bought back some fond memories! xx

PS Wellywoman has blogged about some wonderful gardens recently which you might like to read –

It’s a lovely afternoon out. I could have sat on one of the many benches quite happily for a couple of hours. We found a gap in the rain which, I think, made it look even better in that way that everything seems glittery and fresh when the sun comes out after a shower.
