Geranium Rozanne

I have a new crush.  The object of my affections is Geranium Rozanne, a hardy perennial ‘cranesbill’ variety.  It drew attention not only because it was in full bloom in an otherwise green border but  also because it was chock full of bees.

I’ve since found out that this variety was voted Plant of the Centenary  by the public at the 2013 Chelsea Flower Show, chose from a shortlist of ten, one representing each decade of the show’s history.

So it’s straight to the top of the wish list for this one, not that I’m struggling for space to indulge my plant passions at the moment I just need to get a wiggle on with the digging.

All the technical details can be found on the RHS site here

You can also buy it at the RHS nurseries or I’ve found it at Claire Austin and Crocus.

I think so too David and all the information I’m reading says they are very easy to care for. Excited about the possibilities.

I wonder whether it will seed itself like some of our geraniums do.

Ooh, now that would be a bonus, I’ll ring the RHS on Monday and find out.

Thank you Annie, I’m trying to be a bit more patient with the camera!

It is indeed a beautiful geranium and another bonus is that it has a very long flowering period. In answer to Sue’s question it does not self seed. You can divide it in the spring. I like your blog’s recent makeover 🙂

Thank you Anna. I’m very pleased to hear it’s long flowering a lot of my other things seem to over so quickly.
