Kings Wood Challock

A week and a bit ago we were in Kent, a long overdue journey to pick up an apricot tree ordered back in February from Victoriana Nursery Gardens.  They are based in Challock and just across the road from the 1500 acres of ancient woodland known as Kings Wood. For those interested in history it was once a hunting ground for King Henry v111 apparently.

Here are a couple of pictures from our walk.

Normally we would have missed the bluebells but as you can see from these photographs it was still chock full.

For what was really quite a dull day, the light through the tree canopy was magical and course the smell of the bluebells utterly divine.

Thank you David, yes they were, although I confess to only recently knowing the difference. Would like to spend more time exploring the area. Hope things are well with you. x
