And The Gold Medal Goes To….

Am I even allowed to use those words?  Today we found the Usain Bolt of slugs sprinting up the side of the bag we are using to grow watercress.  By the time Derek had found the camera he* was almost in.  The cool, damp environment coupled with a tasty snack must be everything that a slug longs for, unfortunately on this occasion it wasn’t to be.

So the watercress lives to grow another day.

This variety is from Franchi;fresh and peppery.

*Making an assumption it is a ‘he’.  Does anyone know how to tell the difference?

Eek. Wish I hadn’t. D. told me as much. Was choosing to disbelieve him.

I read this too Flighty a bit yucky but there you go, Victoria I have used Franchi seeds before I got a very old tall pea variety called telefone from them, excellent service and cheap too. Will see how they do, I have just resown them, your friend the 100 metre slug had the first lot.

It moved so quickly, was a shocker. We went to an open day at Franchi a few weeks ago. Astonishing selection of seeds. Pleased with the ones we’ve tried to date.
