Rainy Days And Mondays

What a morning.  We went to Chenies yesterday so I had hoped to spend today on the plot pootling around the raised beds and perhaps mowing the paths but it’s raining rather hard here and although not squeamish about wet weather my waterproof jacket has sprung a leak under the strain of it all, so instead I’m sat on the sofa wondering what to do with the day.  Of course there is always something to do at home but that’s not the point and anyway one of the joys of having an allotment is that you can escape all that.

Looking through the last week’s photos I found this.

It was taken last Thursday on Plot 44 which belongs to John Morris. It’s rather cheering and just thing for a day where it looks like the only thing to do is listen to radio four and clean the bathroom.

P.S. I don’t know what the variety  is. I’ll ask John next time I see him or perhaps if you know you’ll tell me in the comments.

Laughing. It’s the only one on the entire site.

What a terrific sunflower, which could be one of several varieties. I grow lots but inevitably this year I’ll be lucky to see even a handful. xx

Isn’t it. John should be about sometime this week so will definitely ask him.
